Spinner Dynamics presents its latest developments in R&D&I, on safe and effective automated disinfection

Together with its research partners, UA and FEUP, Spinner Dynamics will present a technology demonstrator for automated safe disinfection with Far-UVC and hybrid physical-chemical disinfection

Germirrad automated disinfection solutions was developed as a Research & Development & Innovation partnership between Spinner Dynamics, Universidade de Aveiro and Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto. It makes use of Far-UVC, a safe and effective germicidal irradiation, combined with photocatalyst solutions for hybrid disinfection. This modular technology is employed by Spinner Dynamics on a vast range of applications and will be demonstrated in an autonomous solution at Instituto de Telecomunicações in Universidade de Aveiro on June 27.

New review article from the Spinner Dynamics team and FEUP on UVC and Far-UVC disinfection

Professor Manuel Simões from LEPABE and ALiCE at FEUP and his team along with Spinner Dynamics published a new review article in Science of The Total Environment

This review focuses on the use of UVC and Far-UVC based solutions to inactivate indoor airborne pathogens and how this technology may overcome many of the limitations of traditional chemical-based disinfection approaches, while being environmentally-friendly.

Levels of reduction of airborne pathogens of 99.9% are reported.

New review article from the Spinner Dynamics team and FEUP on hybrid physical-chemical disinfection

Spinner Dynamics and the team of Professor Manuel Simões from LEPABE and ALiCE at FEUP published a new review article in Journal of Environmental Chemical Engineering

This review focuses on the combined use of UVC and Far-UVC with antimicrobial agents for the disinfection of surfaces, and liquids. Several synergistical mechanisms are presented and potential for highly effective hybrid physical-chemical disinfection in various applications is showcased.

Spinner Dynamics presents room purification and disinfection solution for public spaces at Arouca City Hall on invite of the mayor

Following the presentation of Germirrad Air Purifier at CI3 anniversary, Arouca mayor, Dra. Margarida Belém, invited Spinner Dynamics to present its solution at City Hall

Germirrad Air Purifier was presented as not only a solution to mitigate infections due to airborne viruses, such as SARS-CoV-2 and Influenza, but also to improve overall air quality and remove odors in shared offices and public attendance spaces and help with respiratory allergies.

Germirrad Air Purifier is Spinner Dynamics new product for room disinfection

During the Incubation and Industrial Innovation Center CI3 anniversary, Spinner Dynamics introduced its new product in the field of air purification and disinfection

The equipment makes use of a high level filtration system, which includes anti-bacterial (HEPA) filter and an activated charcoal filter as well ultraviolet radiation to decompose RNA structures in pathogen agents, such as bacteria, virus and fungi.

Several research has been made on the use of Ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI) on inactivation of several virus1 including SARS-CoV-22. In the case of SARS-CoV-2, studies have found that the majority of outbreaks occur indoor and that the virus may remain in the air in droplets of 2.5 Microns or smaller for 2 hours or more3.

Spinner Dynamics was present at the CI3 anniversary

In the past month of October, Spinner Dynamics attended the anniversary of the Incubation and Industrial Innovation Center CI3 in Escariz, Arouca.

During the event Spinner Dynamics presented the company, its team, ongoing R&D projects, and showcased its new product in the field of disinfection and air purification, the Germirrad Air Purifier.

Spinner Dynamics looks to address COVID-19 with automated disinfection system

Spinner Dynamics is focusing its team in the development of robotic delivery vehicles with integrated germicidal light and disinfecting atomizers for high agglomeration locations.

The current Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has caused economic and societal impacts and made more pressing the need for a simpler solution to disinfection of public spaces. Airborne-mediated microbial diseases may remain for long periods of time in exposed surfaces and cause further contamination in high traffic locations. Through an effective disinfection solution the infection rate may be slowed and economical and societal activities may restart.
